The Chain Pickerel is a species of freshwater fish in the pike family of order Esociformes. The chain pickerel and the American pickerel belong to the Esox genus of pike. The chain pickerel is a long, torpedo shaped fish with a large mouth filled with needle-like teeth. The body is olive green in color with rows of a chainlike pattern along the side.  A black bar streams straight down from the eye.
